Photoshop For Beginners - PART A
Learn the basics of Photoshop. This short intensive workshop will get you up to speed with what's required to get your 360º and inception images looking fabulous. We will be looking at layers and masks and what makes Photoshop such an essential tool in all your photographic needs.
With 22 years experience with Photoshop as a composite artist for a top architectural firm, Oat will be able to answer your questions on the spot, without having to wait for an email reply if you are doing it yourself online.
Unfamiliar software such as Lightroom or Photoshop can be intimidating for beginners. Learning new software will take time and effort. Resources online will only show you certain aspects of it. Oat will be able to guide you and help build your confidence with the software.
He will go through apps and software that can help plan your shot for sunrise to sunset and software to help stack your shots allowing for a cleaner image. You will also learn about composition and framing, best time to shoot, the difference between RAW and JPEG, white balance, shutter speed, aperture and ISO (Exposure triangle). He will also cover the basic photography principles, these are essentially the same as using a DSLR but on the drone.
The workshop will involve three parts, the first being drone flying, capturing the shots needed for the 360º and inception effects. You will You will learn about LITCHI app, what it can do to make your workflow faster and less stressful, flight path mode & way point, panoramic mode, high dynamic range (HDR) image. We will cover basic composition.
Second is post processing - I will be showing how to process these images from start to stop. I will show you what I do from getting your files off the camera and organising them, filing structure, Lightroom editing, stitching with Lightroom/Photoshop/PTGui, final retouching in Photoshop (correcting the horizon, undetectable patching zenith or nadir, how to use layers & masks to create your inception image, correct method of resizing & exporting for social media & watermarking your 360º image). I usually gear my file for high quality print at large size, then resize for social media outlets.
In the third part participants will be able to process their own or one of my images with their laptops
*Lightroom, Photoshop, PTGui and Nik Colour Effects must be installed on laptops to participate in this portion.
