Editing Process - From Start to Finish
PROCESS:
1. I download with Photo Machanic: World fastest browser developed for sport photographers to download and view image (profession where ever seconds count if you are going to make that sale or not). Beside that i can tag (ingest) the file as i download directly in EXIF, and it stays with the file forever.
1.1 I also browse the file here to delete the duds and keep the one i want, as well as tagging and picking the best image to edit.
1.2 Sometime i use ACDSEE PRO 2 to browse.
1.3 Even use Digital Photo Professional to download or to check more precise info about white balance or the focus point or the camera - learn from your mistage. Yes it can tell u which focus point you used and even the model of your lens. If i need to convert RAW files quickly, I use DPP. Not to mention that it keeps original camera setting in term of Canon’s picture style. Not any other software does.
2. Now the fun begins, I use Lightroom (LR) to do my initial edit. You can got from 0-80% edit in no time. It’s the next 20% that you would need to refine in Photoshop (PS) - these 20% could take 3x longer to get it to 100%. LR is fantastic in a sense that you can copy the edit settings and paste them into the next photo….BANG! DONE!, a little tweek.
2.1 DPP, if you need to keep Canon’s picture style - i personally love it. cuz it will oonly allow you to adjust up to a point where the image is still useful - so you can’t go over the top with it. And it usually looks good too.
2.2 Export jpg or psd out for resizing or further editing.
3. Next stage is to do the final tweek, clone, clean and brush. Filters, effects, noise reduction and sharpen.
Clean: Kodak Airbrush OR Imagenomic.-Portraiture
Effect: Lucis Art
Noise Reduction: Neat Image.
Unsharp Mash: Photoshop action i set up.
4. Browse in ACDSEE PRO 2. to do batch resize and batch watermark.
5…..Done….upload.
6. Web gallery by various software.
